Marblehead was once known as the fishing capital of Massachusetts. This town was once a major shipyard and is considered to be the birthplace of the American Navy. It was shot near El Dorado Tire Shop which is in reality the Phillips & Lee Auto Services. Filming in the town of Marblehead went on for almost 3 months in the Spring of 2012. Marblehead was the second filming location where major scenes of Grown Ups 2 were shot. Back in the day it used to be a fishing village and had its own large commercial fishing fleet. It’s a small scenic, seaside community situated north of Boston. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, then visit Swampscott, it is the ideal place as its nice and quiet. The far western end of Salem eventually became part of Swampscott in 1857. The town was officially incorporated in 1852. In 1629 the Europeans first arrived on the shore of Swampscott. The area back in the day used to be the home of indigenous people for over ten thousand years before the Europeans arrived. Presently the town is a wealthy residential community and includes Beach Bluff and the neighborhood of Clifton. It was once a popular summer destination because of Massachusetts Bay. The town has an estimated population of 15,111. The town of Swampscott is located in Essex County, Massachusetts, 24 KM up the coast from Boston to a region known as the North Shore. The cast and crew moved around quite a bit across the state but all the major scenes were shot in the mentioned towns. Grown Ups 2 is set in the fictional town of Stanton in Connecticut but in reality, it was filmed in Swampscott and Marblehead in Massachusetts.
